COLORED GEMSTONE INSTEAD OF A DIAMOND IN AN ENGAGEMENT RING?
I’ve often had a couple sitting in front of me saying “I want something different, I want something that reflects my style and I like color.” Do you think I can have a Colored Gemstone instead of a diamond in an engagement ring?
This is what I tell these couples; “of course, an engagement ring shows a commitment and a promise, and if you want a Colored Gemstone, then let’s find one!” After all, this is for you, why shouldn’t you have what you love for your engagement ring?
Do you love Red, Blue, Green, Purple, Peach, or ??? Rubies, Sapphires, Emeralds, Amethyst, Morganite, it’s all so confusing, how do you know which is the best choice for you? It’s not always the exact color that matters, as much as the material that you choose for your ring. Many different stones, come in a variety of colors, and are quite beautiful when new, but because of their softness, they may chip or abrade easily, which means that you need to be aware of what you’re purchasing for your future happiness. Some types of Colored Gemstones are just not meant to be worn daily because of the risk to damage the stones easily.
Not all gemstones are not created equal; Some gemstones, although lovely in color, are not the best choice to wear every day. We can help you sort that out by explaining the Mohs scale for hardness, and what this means to you, and we can help you to make the wisest and best choice for that very special ring.
Here at Windy City Diamonds, we can help you to make any style ring that you love, with most any Colored Gemstone instead of a diamond in an engagement ring, and if you prefer, we may use diamonds on the side or as an accent to the color, or not.
Call us anytime. Let’s talk color!
